South Cove Manor of Boston marked its 25th Anniversary with a dinner and celebration earlier this month at the China Pearl restaurant in Chinatown. The event was attended by nearly 250 members and friends of the South Cove community including staff, Board members, residents, families, and honored guests Senator and Mrs. Richard Moore.  Senator Moore, a long time champion of senior care in Massachusetts and Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Healthcare Financing, congratulated South Cove on its 25 years of commitment to service and excellence in senior care.

Keynote speaker Jennie Chin Hanson, Past President of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), commended South Cove for its great work serving the Boston Asian community, and also noted that national health care reform will greatly influence the future of senior care.  In a commemorative history published for the anniversary, South Cove President Richard Liu recalls, “South Cove has met the needs of our growing community by addressing new concerns and embracing new technologies and methods of delivering quality care. The fact that this has been accomplished while maintaining our focus on traditional cultural values is the cornerstone of our success.”
